WhatsApp groups
Turn your WhatsApp group into real income.
Fans pay through your VIPpass link and give their WhatsApp number. You get a short list of who to add and who to remove. VIPpass confirms every payment, tracks every expiry date and reminds fans to renew, so you stop chasing money in your DMs.
Can you charge people to join a WhatsApp group?
Yes. WhatsApp has no built-in way to charge for groups, so VIPpass handles the money. Fans pay through your VIPpass link with mobile money, card or USDT and give their WhatsApp number. You get a task to add them, and VIPpass tracks when their plan ends, reminds them to renew and tells you who to remove.
How it works
Run a paid WhatsApp group in four steps.
Step 1: Create your space
Name your WhatsApp group in VIPpass, add a short description and set 7, 30 or 90-day or lifetime plans in your own currency.
Step 2: Get verified
Upload your government ID, take a live selfie and record a short video. A real person reviews it, and we aim to decide within 24 hours. You can set everything up while you wait.
Step 3: Share one link
Fans open your VIPpass link, confirm they are 18 or older, pay and type their WhatsApp number. No sign-up, no screenshots.
Step 4: Clear your task list
Add each new fan within 24 hours and remove fans whose plan has ended. A daily digest tells you what is waiting.
Who does what
VIPpass does the money. You tap add.
| Job | Who does it |
|---|---|
| Collect the payment | VIPpass, by mobile money, card or USDT |
| Check the payment is real | VIPpass. Nobody gets a task until the payment provider confirms the money |
| Track when each fan's plan ends | VIPpass |
| Remind fans to renew | VIPpass, by SMS or a WhatsApp message link, 3 days and 1 day before, and on the day |
| Add a new fan to the group | You, from your task list, within 24 hours |
| Confirm the fan got in | The fan. If they do not confirm within 24 hours, our support team checks |
| Remove a fan whose plan ended | You, from your task list |
Why adding is manual
No unofficial bots. Your number stays safe.
WhatsApp offers no official tools for managing who is in a group. Unofficial bots and bulk-add tools break WhatsApp's rules and can get your number banned, taking your whole community with it.
So VIPpass never touches your WhatsApp account. It does everything around it instead: payments, expiry dates, reminders and a task list that takes a minute a day.
Privacy
Numbers stay private, on both sides.
You see a number only when you need it
A fan's WhatsApp number shows on your task list while the add task is open. After that it is hidden again.
Your own number stays out of it
Renewal reminders come from VIPpass, so you never have to message fans from your personal number to ask for money.
Fans never see your details
If a fan has a problem, they message you through VIPpass. Neither of you has to share contact details.
Set your group up right
Three WhatsApp settings to turn on.
Only admins can add members
In group permissions, let only admins add people, so members cannot bring in friends who have not paid.
Approve new members
Turn on admin approval, so nobody can join through a forwarded invite link without you seeing it.
Use a WhatsApp channel as your preview
Link a free WhatsApp group or channel to your paid space and post a sample there. Fans can open it before they pay.
Do my fans need to install anything?
No. Fans pay on a web page that works on slow connections, and type the WhatsApp number they want to be added with. They do not need a VIPpass account.
Can the paid space be a WhatsApp channel?
The paid space must be a WhatsApp group, because channels do not let you choose who follows them. A WhatsApp channel works well as your free preview.
What if I forget to remove someone?
Their remove task stays on your list and shows in your daily digest until you mark it done. VIPpass also stops sending them renewal reminders as an active member.
What if a fan says they were not added?
They tap “Problem with access?” on their receipt. It lands in your action inbox, and our support team follows up. If access cannot be sorted out, we refund the fan.
How much does a paid WhatsApp group cost to run?
Starting is free: 2 live spaces with unlimited paying fans. VIPpass takes a 5% service fee on each payment, which already includes payment provider costs. Pro costs ₦20,000 a month for unlimited spaces and a 4% fee. See pricing.
